Dr. Brian T. Guffin - Received his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine.  His Internship & Residency were completed at the Baptist Health Systems in Birmingham. His Fellowship was completed at Louisiana State University School of Medicine.  Dr. Guffin has been in practice for over 11 years.  He is Board Certified in General Surgery and Colon & Rectal Surgery. Medical Society Memberships include: American Medical Society, Jefferson County Medical Society, American College of Surgeons, & American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons.

John B. Hurt, PA-C – Received his Bachelors of Science as a Surgical Physician Assistant in August 2002 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham . He began his career in Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery, and has now been part of the Colon & Rectal Surgical Team since 2004. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and American Academy of Surgical Physician Assistants. His honors include graduating cum laude and being a member of Phi Sigma and Alpha Epsilon Delta. Known to patients as “Big John,” he assist Dr. Guffin and Dr. Murray with major surgical procedures and in-office with postoperative visits.
